Crocus
Green leaves
And gold petals
Line up at spring's doorway
Where we trade our winter wearies
For hope.

The blog of author Deborah Diesen. Here you'll find an eclectic mix, including: interviews with other Michigan authors (some of books for grown-ups, some of books for kids); bits of original poetry; the occasional workout DVD review; plus much, much more, or much, much less, depending on the week.

I just wanted to stop by and say I enjoyed the Michigan notable book I read for your challenge. It took a while for the library to match me up with Working Words but it was worth the wait. I enjoyed the poems and stories a lot. Thanks for the inspiration.
Love it! Written like a true michigander...

Thanks for the nice comments!
Of course, this being Michigan, my crocus are now looking a wee bit chilly; and they won't be surprised if they find themselves covered in snow some time in the next couple of weeks. But what a delightful sign of spring they are! Every year, I love them even more.
Indeed. Wonderful poem. Happy spring!
