Though I hate to admit it, occasionally I do have a pout-pout kind of day.
Today was one of those days.
But then I walked out to my mailbox. And there I found a big envelope, addressed to me, and full of art and letters from nearly a hundred wonderful kids. Here's just a small sampling...
Suddenly I felt cheery-cheery again!
That, and lucky, and thankful.
And ever so very grateful.
Smooch!

Love the smooch.
My gosh, I think I would have cried all over those!
Oh what a wonderful surprise! Makes the difficult writing days all worthwhile, I'm sure!
(I love the pout-pout fish as well.)
Oh, that is just wonderful! Thank you for sharing them with us.
How cool! You should definitely save them.
Debbie! You just commented on my blog and I feel as if I just saw a celebrity!! :) We have read your book to our son since he was an infant. It is our most favorite book in the house!! Thank you!
You bring cheery-cherries to our house every night! Thanks for your wonderful books!
Thank you, all of you! It's a wonderful privilege to be involved in a children's book. To write the book is one thing; then there's the illustrator who brings a whole new aspect to the story; but it's the readers who truly bring things to life. Enjoying the story, singing the story, making art -- it's all very magical!! I feel humbled and happy to be a part of it.
