The blog of author Deborah Diesen. Here you'll find an eclectic mix, including: interviews with other Michigan authors (some of books for grown-ups, some of books for kids); bits of original poetry; the occasional workout DVD review; plus much, much more, or much, much less, depending on the week.

Totally Awesome!
that is sooo cool!!!
That is SO COOL! I bet your never thought your book would become a birthday cake. Who knows? Next could be party plates, hats, goodie bags... :) I just showed the picture to my kids. THey loved it and thought it was extra cool since it says Happy Birthday, Noah - since that's my son's name too.
Sometimes it's almost surreal to see the ways in which the story has rippled out and come alive in new ways. I feel lucky and humbled to be connected to the lives of kids I've never even met, but with whom I have a link with through the story. Though it sounds sappy to say, truly it's the best part of being an author.
That is an awesome cake!
It doesn't sound sappy at all. It's really true. The Pout Pout Fish is one of those books that kids will remember from their childhood and want to read to their kids.
I'm excited for the sequel. Or should we say - SEA-quel? :)
